Moment John Kerry is hit on the head by Number 10 Downing Street's door

John Kerry suffered an embarrassing mishap when he walked straight into 10 Downing Street's door today.

After waving to cameras outside the building, the US Secretary of State turned around and collided with the famous black door.

The Democrat Party diplomat had not realised it had swung shut behind him as he tried to walk back inside the building.

Watching cameras captured the moment the door appeared to strike him on the head, causing him to recoil.

Mr Kerry is visiting London to hold talks following the UK’s decision to leave the European Union.
