Greenwich collision: Cyclist killed after being struck by lorry

A cyclist has died after being struck by a lorry in Greenwich.

The 46-year-old man collided with the vehicle close to Greenwich Park on Wednesday afternoon.

He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but later died of his injuries, police said.

Police, an Air Ambulance and paramedics rushed to the scene of the crash on Romney Road just after 4.30pm.

The lorry driver and passenger were treated for injuries at the scene and the cyclist was taken to hospital.

But he died on Friday, police confirmed. His family have been notified.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and information about the crash.

The driver of the lorry, who stopped at the scene was not arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.
