Gotheborg docks in London for four-day visit

The world’s largest ocean-going wooden sailing ship has arrived in London for a four-day visit.

The Gotheborg, a replica of an 18^thcentury Swedish East India Company ship that sank outside Gothenburg in 1745, passed through Tower Bridge between 8.30am and 9.30am before mooring at Canary Wharf at 10am.

The ship will be open to the public from Monday to Thursday before leaving at 2pm on Friday.

Tours of the ship are sold on a ticket basis, with entry costing £15 for visitors over 16, and £7.50 for visitors aged five to 16. Guests can expect to be given a tour of the vessel, along with opportunities to listen in on stories of the ship’s history.

London is the sixth stop off as part of a two-year expedition through Europe and Asia.

The expedition is scheduled to end with the final stop off in Shanghai in September 2023.
