News | LondonDramatic video shows car engulfed by flames in east London Car fire: flames engulf the vehicle in Rush Green Road, east London (Picture: Facebook/Michael Christiansen)Alexandra Rucki5 March 2015Dramatic video footage filmed by a passer-by shows a car engulfed by flames in east London.The clip, posted online by witness Michael Christiansen, shows firefighters battling with the blaze which took place at the junction of Rush Green Road and Dagenham Road on Tuesday evening.In the footage the tyres of the car can be seen exploding, giving off waves of thick black smoke.The car, thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa, was left completely wrecked following the blaze.Mr Christiansen said the London Fire Brigade arrived within minutes, writing on Facebook they were “brilliant” and “very brave”.He told the Standard: "The fire took about four minutes to completely engulf car. A bus and ambulance support vehicle blocked the road to stop any traffic."The tyres exploded causing massive plumes of black smoke.
