Dog takes on swans and loses during pond attack

This is the moment a dog took on a swan and was met with an angry response.

The plucky pooch started barking at a group of cygnets while out for a walk by Barnes Pond, in south west London.

But the dog met his match when he began yapping at the birds and came head-to-head with their protective mother.

The enraged swan arched her long neck and shielded her baby cygnets away from the dog.

As the stand-off continued geese flocked over to protect the family.

It appeared the swan won and was photographed swimming away followed by her babies.
