Cyclist's helmet cam footage shows 'flawed' junction at Bow Roundabout

This helmet cam footage shows what cyclists are faced with when negotiating traffic lights on an entrance to the Bow Roundabout.

The video, entitled Ambiguity at Bow Roundabout, shows a cyclist moving left into the cycle superhighway.

The rider stops at the lane's red light while traffic in an adjacent lane goes through a green.

When the cyclists' light changes, they travel forwards a few metres before being stopped again by a red light.

Traffic, including HGVs then moves out on to the roundabout from their right.

Viewers criticised the layout for cyclists.

Comments beneath the footage read: "Without any change, that is a chilling precursor to another fatality."

Another posted: "This set of lights are a deathtrap for cyclists."

One other commenter wrote: "It's a flawed junction."

A woman in her 20s became the fourth cyclist to be killed on London’s roads in eight days after being dragged under the wheels of a truck on Bow roundabout today.

The roundabout has been described as a 'death trap' by locals.
