Candy brothers get go-ahead for prestige Pimlico block

Property developers Christian and Nick Candy have been given the go-ahead to build 31 prestige apartments in Pimlico.

The plan for the apartments at 26 Chapter Street has been given the green light by Westminster council.

The Candys’ CPC Group says it has worked with architects to be able to modernise the existing office block while keeping its historic character.

The move is the latest in a flurry of high-end housing schemes by the pair, who previously built the iconic One Hyde Park development.

The brothers, said to be worth more than £330 million, purchased the Chapter Street site from Land Securities in 2005 for £150 million.

A CPC Group spokesman said the Candys were “delighted” to win planning permission for the project, which would be “an opportunity to modernise the existing building through exemplary design and innovation while maintaining its historic character and providing high-quality homes”.
