Any repairs needed will not form part of the 10-year property maintenance plan which has been drawn up for the London landmark.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that refurbishments costing £150 million, including rewiring, updating the plumbing and removal of asbestos, are scheduled to take place.
It is thought the Queen may have to move out of the palace to allow the large-scale works to take place.
