He said: “I am horrified to be here again, incredibly apologetic. Standards had slipped.
"We propose a private members’ food-led venue. It will allow the brand to be slightly more grown-up.”
After the ruling, Boujis released the following statement: “The Ignite Group [which owns Boujis] is delighted that the Licensing Authority has decided to reinstate the licence for Boujis.
"After fifteen successful years in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea we look forward to developing a new, high end, Private Members’ Club that will assure our neighbours and a create a high-quality experience for club members.”
Mr Hermer added: “Today marks a new beginning for Boujis. We have all learned many lessons during the last six months and are optimistic and excited about a very different future with the creation of an exclusive private members’ club in the heart of South Kensington."
Traci Weaver, chairwoman of Thurloe Residents’ Association which had called for Boujis to lose its licence, said: “We are not against the private members’ club if it works. We give qualified support and will watch very closely.”
