Count Cynicula (@chithecynic) asked the Mayor whether the coffee shop should have to change its name, to which he responded: “I am a free marketer -- is it popular?”
Last night, the coffee shop announced it would be change the current sign and replace it with another Lego sign, but with an asterisk in the place of where ‘u’ currently stands.
The initial letter, dated October 20, from lawyers acting on behalf of the building’s owner stated, the café should immediately remove the sign and make good any damage caused to the exterior of the building.
The letter ends: “If we do not hear from you by 4pm on 27 October 2015 with confirmation that you have removed the sign, our client will takes [sic] steps to remove the sign themselves and they will seek to recover the costs of doing so from you.”
A spokesman for F***coffee today told the Standard that Mr Jones’ kneejerk reaction was the change the name of the café completely, but after great feedback and looking into the legality of it, the name would just be censored.
