Emails from the boss cause London workers to miss out on proper sleep

Londoners are losing sleep because they worry about missing emails from the boss, according to a poll.

Nearly half of London residents said they never got a good night's sleep because of work pressure and checking Twitter and Facebook.

Most people did get seven to nine hours of sleep a night, however constantly checking emails and electronic devices mean they sleep lightly and dont have deep, restful sleep..

While the new research revealed that London adults get the National Sleep Foundation’s recommended seven to nine hours of sleep a night it suggested they don't get enough deep sleep.

The poll by eve Sleep found found it was a problem for 42% of London's workforce.

Kuba Wieczorek, co-founder of eve Sleep said: “We need to start focusing on the quality of our sleep, not just the quantity.

“We already spend a third of our lives in bed so it’s vital we wake up feeling refreshed in order to make the most from our waking hours. Good bedtime habits, including the surface you sleep on, can make a significant difference,” he added.
