Hampstead residents including Lord Melvyn Bragg and actor Tim Piggot-Smith wrote to the council to object to the proposals. Residents have also been concerned about the designs which they claim are a “gross over-development”. After the meeting last week, Ms Briody told the Camden New Journal: “The team behind plans for a new home for Abacus Belsize Primary School are discussing next steps. We are encouraged, however, that the planning committee considers the principle of the school acceptable in the building.”
