Shocking moment car mounts pavement and ploughs into London pedestrians injuring six

Police are investigating after six people were injured when a 4x4 ploughed into pedestrians and another car in east London.

The driver smashed into the back of a stationary car, narrowly missing passers-by, while others were struck after the car mounted a pavement in Upton Park.

CCTV footage from the incident, which occurred at 8.18am on Green Street on Saturday morning, showed a grey 4x4 smashing through a lamppost.

Pedestrians were also seen running for cover as a car slammed into the rear of a stationary blue Toyota.

Six people, including the driver, were taken to hospital. They have since been confirmed as in not life-threatening or life-changing condition.

The Met Police said: “Police were called to Green Street, close to Upton Park Station at 12:10hrs on Saturday, June 20, following reports of a collision involving a car and several pedestrians.

“Six people, including the driver have been taken to hospital”.

Police continue to investigate. There have been no arrests.
