Last year saw the opulent Shangri-La open, this year's Paris hotel premiere is the 138-room Mandarin Oriental, Paris, opening its chic doors tomorrow, on the Rue Saint-Honoré.
The original Art Deco façade is echoed inside with interiors by Sybille de Margerie (a member of the Taittinger family, whose design company also kitted out the Hotel de Crillon).
Ninety-nine rooms and 39 suites are decked out with silk and embroidered taffeta in shades of orange, fuchsia and plum; sleek contemporary furniture and dark wood, pale lacquer and chrome.
Man Ray photography graces the walls while bathrooms feature glass, wood, white marble and mosaics.
An inner courtyard will offer outdoor dining, with a choice of restaurants and bars under executive chef and culinary director Thierry Marx.
The 900 square metre spa offers Aromatherapy Associates treatments, along with hydrotherapy and heat treatments, a large indoor pool and a fitness centre.
