If you're thinking this looks like a collection of factory buildings in the middle of nowhere you wouldn't be far wrong.
Except this November the 57-room Singular Patagonia hotel opens here, on the shores of the Last Hope Sound, just outside Puerto Natales in southern Patagonia.
Housed in the converted Frigorifico, a former post-Victorian cold-storage plant built to process frozen meat for export to Europe and declared a national monument in 1996, the hotel's onsite museum will exhibit the factory's original machinery as well as showcasing the area's history.
It will also be home to the largest spa in Patagonia, designed by Barbara Morrows with an indoor heated pool and organic treatments.
Traditional Chilean cuisine and wine will be served in the open kitchen restaurant. Adventurous excursions include the Patagonian fjords and the Torres del Paine National Park.
