Jasper Conran, the celebrated designer, has opened his first hotel in the heart of Marrakech, Morocco.
The hotel is an updated 19th century riad, originally part of the Caidal palace in Medina, the city's centre.
It has five bedroom suites, a courtyard garden and swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy views of the city from the hotel's rooftop.
Inside it is classic Conran; white-washed walls with tasteful flourishes. Conran has picked out antique furniture, lights and even art from his own collection.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the hotel and guests can enjoy cocktails among the orange blossoms.
Marrakech is set to become a fashionable destination in 2017. French fashion powerhouse Yves Saint Laurent is opening a museum dedicated to the label's creator. The museum will host a selection of the designer's personal collection - currently based in Paris - from sketches to haute couture clothing.
