The Raft at Chigborough is a two-storey floating cabin that offers guests a simple, but stunning setting for a stay on the lake.
At just 40 miles from London, the Chigborough Lakes are the perfect setting for a countryside weekend escape, with plenty of old-style village pubs nearby.
You can access the raft via a floating ferry platform and guests also have use of a rowing boat.
The simple, cosy wooden cabin sleeps four. There's an outdoor kitchen with a gas hob and fridge, a dining area with table and chairs out on the deck, and back on the bank, a fire pit for an old-school barbecue.
It also features a living area complete with sofa bed, a lake-view shower and a double bed up on the mezzanine level, which can be converted to twin beds. A balcony on the upper level offers guests some of the best views over the lake
Bikes are also available for hire on the bank, which allow guests to explore the local area. There's a nearby deli which can provide food hampers for picnic, as well as the Cart Lodge restaurant and tearoom. The village of Goldhanger has a couple of recommended pubs, perfect for real ale, fish and chips, and Sunday roasts.
