Crush has always wanted to be a bit quirkier, a bit unpredictable; that crazy, cool friend who gets everyone dancing at parties and is so OMFG that people email the host afterwards to find out who that magnificent creature passing round the hipflask of ‘moonshine’ was… Alas, Crush is just not that person, but we know someone who is.

Step forward Shailene Woodley, the 23-year-old star of the film that honestly isn’t The Hunger Games — Insurgent — and The Fault in Our Stars, which we recently watched on a plane and wept all the way to Heathrow, through passport control and into town on the Piccadilly Line.

Shailene is Crush’s dream younger woman and it’s cool because she’s totes open-minded about her sexuality and says, ‘I fall in love with people based on who they are.’ She’s really into Gaia, the Ancient Greek personification of the Earth, and according to her Twitter feed is also big on ‘rewilding, sacralizing the feminine [and] gratitude’. Crush, too! (We think.)

Shai is a breath of fresh air for young Hollywood and despite brushing her teeth with clay, making her own deodorant and turning up to the Insurgent premiere barefoot last week, she is not known as a total wazzock but as a great actress who is even more likeable than J-Law (she insists on starting all interviews with a hug). Were Crush ever Shai’s significant other, certain things may take some getting used to: she doesn’t have a mobile phone, so we’d have to send heart-eyes emojis via carrier pigeon, and she says she likes to sunbathe naked to ‘give my vagina a little vitamin D’, which might be a problem on holiday. Other than that it’s a match made in heaven — or in our stars?
