The Crush: Michelle Obama

If Michelle Obama ever deigned to give us one of her famous hugs (The New York Times called them ‘half motherly embrace and half papal benediction’), we might actually die (of joy, obviously, not because Lady O had overzealously squished us in her long, strong arms).

Miche is just so insanely inspirational as the fit, fierce, feminist First Lady that she taps into a deep-seated sense of sisterhood that would have us whooping, weeping or manically high-fiving strangers were we ever lucky enough to meet her.

On the campaign trail in Wisconsin last week, people camped out overnight for the chance to see Michelle bound on to the stage to ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ by Stevie Wonder and big-up her husband.

Seriously, as much as we love Sam Cam’s winsome way with a Roksanda frock, there’s simply no contest. Michelle is our kind of gal: popular (her favourability ratings are higher than her husband’s), super-sexy and able to spout motivational mottoes such as ‘Don’t let anyone talk down your dreams’ and ‘How hard you work matters more than how much you make’ and actually get away with it.

Our ultimate Michelle fantasy involves us spending election night with her and the two girls, tucking into takeaway pizzas together, booing the Romneys and then doing victory fist-bumps all round. Yes, we can!
