Eighteen-year-old Archy Marshall aka King Krule (formerly known as Zoo Kid… just smile and nod) is sending shivers down our spine with his poetic, political lyrics and strange, discordant guitar riffs. We’ve always had a soft spot for waifs and wastrels who look hot in a hoodie (apart from Ed Sheeran), so we’re pretending we don’t know that Mr Marshall hails from East Dulwich (via The BRIT School) and imagining we met him on a Hackney housing estate. We’re inexplicably fascinated by his La Roux looks and This is England styling, which contrasts so charmingly with his surprisingly deep voice and complex lyricism. Oooh, he’s a riddle wrapped in a Fred Perry polo shirt and we’re smitten.
