The Crush: Jillian Michaels

No one gets us hot, sweaty, breathless and groaning quite like Jillian Michaels, celebrity fitness trainer, friend to fatties on The Biggest Loser (a US show that offers a $250,000 prize for the contestant who drops the most weight) and star of workout DVDs such as Extreme Shed & Shred and 6 Week Six-pack.

Since investing in a Jillian boxset, we can’t leave the house in the mornings without a hit of this fitty’s ripped abs, power arms and motivational catchphrases. If anyone else told us to: ‘Just be you. Because, guess what, who else are you going to be?’, we’d scoff. But from Jills such platitudes move us deeply — though maybe that’s just the post-workout low blood sugar.

When she’s not bouncing around on screen, Jillian bounces around LA with her wife and children, wearing jodhpurs and riding boots (we like to think she has an actual horse, though if it’s just a fashion statement, we can totally get on board). It’s got to the point where we’ll do whatever Jillian tells us: 50 scorpion push-ups, lunge choppers and plank twists? Sure. We just wish she’d flirt with us like she does with the ‘babes’ who help demonstrate her moves on the DVDs. When Jillian grabs a handful of ‘babe’ Shelly’s hair, and declares, ‘Take me home, baby, yeah!’, we really feel the burn.
