The Crush: Jenna Lyons

We swoon over the easy East Coast glamour of US fashion behemoth (the First Lady’s outfitter in chief) J Crew, so on hearing the brand is set to make its UK debut this year, storming into Regent Street with a 17,000sq ft shop, we realised a cropped chinos-shaped hole in our lives was about to be filled.

But we don’t just love this all-American brand’s affordably fabulous garb; we crush Jenna Lyons, the woman behind it, even more. Any relationship break-up makes us sad, but when Jenna left her husband for a sexy blonde jewellery executive called Courtney, our malaise was tempered by our appreciation for a late-blooming lesbian (hi, Mary Portas!). Then Ms Lyons did a Jodie Foster at November’s Glamour Woman of the Year awards, thanking her girlfriend, ‘Who has shown me new love,’ and we felt all warm and fuzzy inside (we felt even fuzzier when we saw her hanging out with the lezerati at a New York Fashion Week party, and giving a gal pal a lap dance). Ms Lyons rocks ripped jeans and denim shirts as well as she does tailored suits and heels, and who else could work thick-framed statement specs without looking like a dork?

We majorly WLTM this millionaire fashion guru with an obvious GSOH (you wouldn’t catch strait-laced Tom Ford gyrating on a friend’s lap for fun). In fact, we covet Jenna Lyons’ androg-chic style so much, we wish she’d get back in the closet, and take us with her.
