The Crush: Christine Ohuruogu

Crush has had some real good times with people who start slow and steady before powering through hard and fast in a desperate bid to come first.

So we are ready, set, go for Christine Ohuruogu to run away with our hearts, after her thrilling performance at the World Athletics Championships last week.

Not only does the 29-year-old Newham native get mad props from Crush for winning a 400m race by 0.004 of a second, but she knows exactly when to stick her chest out to get what she wants. And before you insist we wrap ourselves in a modesty bag and head straight to the top shelf, what we mean is, if she hadn’t jutted out her assets at just the right moment, she wouldn’t have been first across the finish line. And ladeez, that’s a lesson for us all.

Chrissy is a strong, stunning woman with power arms that make Madonna’s look like Twiglets. She scrubs up well off-track, too, and those legs are simply… gripping. But most impressive is that in between winning stuff she got a degree in linguistics, an MBE and wrote a series of books to get kids into sport.

We can only apologise to Ms O for being all ‘Jessica Ennis this, Victoria Pendleton that’ during London 2012, because this slow-burn champion has got us all fired up.
