What animal would you most like to be? I think a porpoise, because they look like they're having fun. Although I've only seen them performing at Sea World, where they're trained to entertain me.
What was the last album you downloaded? Dragonslayer by Sunset Rubdown. They're from Canada and there's this guy called Spencer Krug who's the main man. I think they're genius.
What would you save from a fire? There's too much stuff that I wouldn't be able to grab hold of, so I might as well grab my family.
What makes you laugh? Pretty much everything. The one thing that keeps me going is laughter; when I stop laughing I get miserable.
What makes you cry? Anything that doesn't make me laugh.
What are you up to at the moment? I'm starting the casting for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
Who's your hero? I have tons. Clint Eastwood, because he uses his power and success to make films; one film for Hollywood then one for himself. I never want to meet my heroes, it's always a disappointment. John Lennon was a hero and I'm glad I never met him because he was probably a pain in the ass.
What do you most like wearing? My Tintin sweater with Tintin and Snowy on the front.
What's the best place for a romantic date? The bottom of my garden; we have a really nice garden, and it's next to the cemetery in case it all goes wrong. Serious romance is always tinged with a bit of tragedy; the closer to death, the more romantic it is.
Which is your favourite London pub? The one nearest my house, The Flask, but I don't like it in summer because it really fills up.
What is your favourite London discovery? Sir John Soane's Museum. What a place, and it's free. Michael Palin's son used to be the assistant curator.
Have you ever stolen anything? I've had stuff stolen recently; we didn't notice until the next day because we've got a house full of stuff.
