Chunky chokers: cracking collars with dramatic designs

A trend that has grabbed us all, quite literally, by the throat, the choker necklace has made a huge comeback.

Speaking in fashion terms (and therefore seasons) chokers adorned the AW14 runways in February, particularly in Paris and during the Dsquared2 show, and were taken further for SS15 on the runways at Balmain and Marios Schwab.

When we reminisce about the comeback of the choker, many of us pay tribute to those disco days of the 90s. The style goes back as far as the end of the 1700s, when women took to wearing red ribbons around their necks during the French Revolution as a sign of respect to those who met their death at the guillotine.
