Petite Meller charms in 1920s French-style photoshoot
Up-and-coming pop star Petite Meller shows a provocative yet creative and fun side during a photoshoot for ES Magazine.
In the photoshoot, the French singer and fashion muse, known for her distinctive sense of fashion and surreal videos, emerges from the inside of a trunk for a series of suggestive 1920s French-style photographs. Red was the predominant colour chosen for the set to complement her clothes and lipstick.
Meller is studying philosophy to give her songs more depth, she says. Rather than being “just a pop artist” she wanted to introduce people to different ideas such as those of Sigmund Freud.
The singer, who lived in Paris, Tel Aviv and New York before moving to Shoreditch, is studying for an MA in philosophy through a programme with Tel Aviv University and the Sorbonne.
She told ES Magazine: “For me it’s interesting just to bring another level into music, which is more [about] the concept, the ideas, that I read or see in cinema.
