What do you collect?
Three thousand plus human rights protests resulting in 100 plus arrests, 300 plus violent assaults and 50 plus attacks on my flat.
Best place for a first date?
A protest march for human rights. It is a good way to sort the airheads from serious dating material. Afterwards, a cycle ride along the South Bank of the Thames from Waterloo to Rotherhithe, ending with a drink in The Mayflower pub (circa 1550).

What are you working on?
I am not long back from protesting for LGBT+ rights in Russia — and getting arrested, again. I just launched a new report on the economic damage caused by homophobia and am pressing the Prime Minister to compensate gay men whose lives were ruined by being prosecuted under anti-gay laws that were only finally repealed in 2003.
Best thing a cabbie has ever said to you?
‘You f***ing queer c***, get out of my cab.’ He was enraged by my fight for LGBT+ rights. I took it as a backhanded compliment.
Biggest extravagance?
I don’t do extravagance, but I like dark bitter chocolate. I like the simple things in life.
