What was the last gig you saw in London?
Britney Spears at The O2 – she was amazing. I forgot to take my glasses so I didn't see that much, but it was a spectacle. I went to see Take That at Wembley, too, and the show was just insane – they were wearing tartan on stage which was a bit of a moment.

What advice would you give a tourist?
Catch the Number 12 bus through Central London. It's an unofficial sightseeing tour at a tenth of the price.

Which London shops do you rely on?
Selfridges, for everything. The 24-hour corner shop by Chalk Farm Tube station for things like water, milk and bread. Dover Street Market, just for the experience of going in; you can see all of the collections in one place. Columbia Road Flower Market, for the obvious. I buy my aftershave, Escentric Molecules, at Browns Focus.

What's the best meal you've had in London?
Fish and chips at J Sheekey. They offer you ketchup so you don't have to feel common
by asking.

What's your first London memory?Getting my head stuck in the railings of Buckingham Palace. I was about eight and was there with my mum. I pushed my head in to watch the Changing of the Guard and it wouldn't come out again.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Gossip magazines and reality TV like The Hills, The City and My Super Sweet 16.

What would you do as Mayor for the day?
I'd make taxis free.

What's your life philosophy?
Have fun.

What animal would you most like to be?
A giraffe. I saw one at London Zoo a couple of weeks ago. They are awe-inspiring and stunning to look at; they take your breath away.

What was the last album you bought?
The Noisettes. Lead singer Shingai Shoniwa's voice is really good. I saw them perform live recently and she is amazing.

Where did you last go on holiday? I stayed in Palm Springs in March for the Coachella Music and Arts Festival, it was crazy – you go to the festival in the day and then you come back to huge mansions for parties in the evenings. I also went to Moscow for work for a few days; it's a strange city but the Metro stations are beautiful. I've just got back from the South of France where I went camping with some friends near Marseilles.

What would you save from a fire?
My BlackBerry, because you need to tell everyone that your house is on fire... and it's where I store everything.
