Volvo XC90 R-Design

Volvo’s big and successful XC90 has gained a more sporting trim level.

There’s no more horsepower or torque to go with the looks, but you can specify the R-Design with D5 diesel, T6 petrol or T8 petrol hybrid engines.

The exterior sports silver mirrors, blacked-out grille and new 20in alloys.

Inside there is tinted glass for the rear, powered sports seats in the front, black headlining, sports pedals and a 12.3in infotainment set-up.

On the actual sporting side there is Volvo’s Adjustable Steering Force included as well as paddle shifters behind the perforated leather steering wheel.

The R-Design is already on sale, for £49,785, which neatly undercuts by about £1000 the BMW X5 M Sport.
