The concours event at Pebble Beach will see the unveiling of a Roadster version of the Aventador Superveloce.

The existence of such a vehicle was only recently confirmed, so this is the first confirmed date at which it will be seen in public.

It will be a soft-top version of the Aventador Superveloce coupé. The Superveloce tag means less weight and more power than a standard Aventador. As with the Superveloce coupé, the Roadster will feature a more stripped-down interior, with carbonfibre for seats and parts, along with Alcantara and leather.

Production is going to be limited to just 500 vehicles

Power has not been confirmed, but the Roadster will have the 6.5-litre V12 of the Superveloce coupé. This makes 740bhp at 8400rpm, up 49bhp on the standard Aventador.

The weight of the Roadster may be slightly up, but it is expected to equal the Superveloce coupé’s 0-62mph time of 2.8sec, although the soft-top is unlikely to equal the coupé’s top speed of 217mph.

A seven-speed automated manual transmission will feed power to all four wheels.

Production is going to be limited to just 500 vehicles, fewer than for the Superveloce coupé, although it is thought the entire run of 650 Superveloce coupés has already been sold.

Price for the more exclusive Aventador Superveloce Roadster is likely to be around £321,743.
