Open-top Evoque to launch next year

A set of full-size wire artworks has been seen placed strategically in central London.

They show in amazing detail the shape of a new Evoque Convertible.

This is the first official showing of a vehicle which has been an open secret for some time.

Jaguar Land Rover say the models are completely accurate thanks to computer modelling, and even include three-dimensional wheels and seats.

It’s expected that the finished vehicles will have rather more bodywork than the artwork installations.

Production vehicles will be built at the Halewood plant beside the other Evoque models and, by then, we should have more information on how the JLR engineers have solved the problem of lack of rigidity caused by removing the roof.

Production will start in 2016.
