Facelift for Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S

More power, styling changes and kit, along with better fuel consumption. What’s not to like? These changes are following on from those on the Carrera and Carrera S models.

The twin-turbo 3.8-litre flat six now pumps out 572bhp in the Turbo S, up 20bhp. The 911 Turbo moves up to 532bhp, while torque remains the same at 553lb ft.

In the S this means a top end the other side of 200mph and a 0-62mph time of just 2.9sec, a tenth faster than for the Turbo. Yet ­­­­.

The exteriors gain new front bumpers with new splitter and different LED indicators. Inside there’s a touch-sensitive infotainment system as well as a larger steering wheel.

Sitting on 20in alloys, there is now the option of a lift function that raises the front end up by 40mm to give the Porsche better ground clearance when it’s off-roading. Oh, no, apparently not. That’s for helping lift it over speedbumps and other obstructions in the roads behind Harrods.

Both versions are actually already on sale in the UK. The 911 Turbo prices start at £126,925 for the coupe, and £145,773 gets you the Turbo S coupe. The Turbo S cabriolet starts at £154,614.
