Rimowa and Globe-Trotter (which recently opened a shop on Albemarle Street) make the best-looking luggage. But would you trust something that pretty with a burly baggage-handler? I did once and my aluminium Rimowa has never rolled the same since. If you don’t travel by private jet, I recommend Tumi to you (as the Chuckle Brothers might say).
