Is it acceptable to wear a T-shirt with a suit?

Traditionalists would say no. But even though there’s something a little Miami Vice about it, I’d say yes. Because these are the new days of sports-luxe when the high-low mix of combining tailoring with casualwear means you can dress well and still stay comfortable. Just be sure to do it correctly. The suit should be soft-shouldered, the T-shirt (a fine-gauge knit is also an option) should be round-neck, close-fitting and devoid of slogan or logo (Tinie Tempah, above). And it really only suits flat stomachs — something to bear in mind if you’re more Tubbs than Crockett.
