Where do you get your beard trimmed, now that everyone’s going beard-free?
Like artisan coffee shops and specialist bike stores, gentlemen’s barbers are sprouting up all over town — not just in Shoreditch. Ted’s Grooming Room and Murdock both have several shops of consistent quality, but I’ve combed London to see who else makes the grade: Joe and Co for contemporary cool; Pankhurst for high-end luxury; Tommy Guns for hipster edginess; Geo F Trumper for old-school refinement. However, for true decadence, pay a visit to the stunning and little-known barbers within Dolce & Gabbana’s flagship menswear store at 53-55 New Bond Street, W1 (020 7495 9250).

At this month’s London Collections: Men fashion shows there was a noticeable collection of London men who moved in a pack. The Sartorial 7 — a group of buttoned-up dapper chaps who work in and around men’s fashion — are building up quite a following. Deservedly so, for they represent London menswear well. I doff my hat.
