What sort of suit should I get married in this spring in London?

Two things to consider: 1) You want to be able to wear it a lot more than once. Unlike a wedding dress. 2) The picture on your mantelpiece should age well. Therefore think timeless rather than trendy or bold. Buy the best navy or mid-grey single-breasted, two-button, off-the-peg suit you can afford (try Hardy Amies, Paul Smith or Hackett, above). Then have it tailored to fit (around £150). Don’t do the alterations too early in case you change size before the wedding. And tell them not to go too snug in case you change size after it.
