RIXO’s debut loungewear collection is full of pieces you’ll continue to wear post-hibernation

London-based print-tastic label RIXO today dropped its first loungewear collection.  

The British brand, which celebrated its fifth anniversary last month, typically majors in party-ready minis and wedding guest dresses, but in preparation for lockdown round two, has cleverly pivoted its business to include a casualwear offering.  

“Loungewear has always been on our radar but this year seemed like the perfect time to launch,” says co-founder Orlagh McCloskey. “For us, it’s always about adapting to our customers’ needs and although our ready-to-wear collections are perfect for everyday life, a loungewear capsule seemed so relevant and needed now more than ever.”

The collection features traditional pyjama sets, nightshirts and dresses, tee-shirts, a robe and a silk eye masks and- with scalloped edges, frills and ginghams, was an ode to RIXO’s love of all things vintage, and designed with “an essence of individualism” at its core.  

Crafted from both silk and cotton, the collection is a perfect way to perk up your second lockdown, but also features several items that you can easily work into your real-life wardrobe, once we can emerge from hibernation. There’s a particularly good oversized embroidered collar white shirt that would look great tucked into vintage denim, and a gingham Bardot dress that’ll work perfectly on the beach should we make it to the sea next summer.  

The label’s classic black and white Ibiza Star print - one of the first the brand ever designed – is reworked on a silky pair of pyjamas that bold dressers could definitely pair with heels for a post-lockdown cocktail party.

Elsewhere ‘vintage Rose’ and ‘garden party red’ prints were developed from the brand’s recent resort collection –“they capture that wintery, cosy spirit we felt was perfect for this season and the run up to Christmas,” says Orlagh.

“We hope we’ve catered for everyone and we are so looking forward to seeing all the photos that come from this!”
