Her autumn/ winter 2021 Fendi menswear collection was revealed today, on the second day of a largely digital Milan Men’s Fashion Week, via a video directed by Italian artist Nico Vascellari.
With models stomping through a 360-mirrored tunnel scattered with neon-lit doorframes accompanied by a thumping dance-pop track with voice overlays from Fendi herself, the film felt energetic and full of optimism.
A celebration of colour, light and solidarity in surreal times, the collection was a practical mix of super cosy WFH-wear like ribbed and cable knit long johns, cardigan scarves and mitten cuffs, and pyjama-inspired outerwear, which came in the form of a floral belted duvet coat with wide lapels, pyjama piping on trench coats and quilted silk jacquard lounge coats and pullovers.

A series of black looks came mid-show, scribbled with a multi-coloured abstraction of the Fendi logo plus faces and dreamscapes, created by our very own Great British Bake-off star Noel Fielding. The collaboration with Fielding is the latest in a series of artistic collaborations that’s previously included British artist John booth, @HeyReilly and Sue Tilley.
Monochrome ensembles in in a jewel palette of emerald, vermillion, orange and fuchsia, red and cobalt stole the show, with the bold quilted coats perfect mood-boosting buys.

When it came to the accessories, the classic Baguette bag was scaled up to become a roomy satchel, and down as a lanyard card holder, while Noel Fielding’s outré graphic art adorned a Peekaboo and an FF buckle tote in grainy calfskin. Elsewhere shearling attested to the indoor-outdoor cosy aesthetic on a black satchel daubed with a multicolour ‘Fendi’ and super snug shearling FF slippers.
Whether we’re locked down or out-and-about, Fendi’s man is ready.
