Mark Fast, 29, was raised by his teacher parents in the Canadian countryside outside Winnipeg. He uses a domestic knitting machine to create his innovative body-moulding designs, fusing Lycra, viscose, angora and wool. A Central Saint Martins alumnus, he completed his MA in 2008. Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Kylie Minogue and Anouck Lepere have all worn his handcrafted dresses. He has also created knitwear for London-based Turkish designer Bora Aksu, collaborated with Stuart Vevers, the creative director of Loewe, and with Christian Louboutin.
