Royal College of Art graduate and embellishment expert Holly Fulton, 32, shows her second collection for Fashion East this spring. Her speciality is geometric patterns using an eclectic mishmash of modern materials. Born in Edinburgh, she has worked for Lanvin in Paris and has a studio in London. Her pieces are featured
in the new Sex and the City film and stocked at Browns.

What was your inspiration for spring/summer 2010?

An image by Eduardo Paolozzi called Wittgenstein in New York. I love the vibrant use of colour and homage to Art Deco architecture. I also turned to Jeanne Moreau in The Bride Wore Black and the women in tight black Lycra and red lipstick in
Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love' video.

What is your first fashion memory?

Poring over my mother's collections of Nova and Vogue from the 1960s.

Borderline bad taste

Georgian David Koma, 25, is famed for his body-conscious, sculptural dresses embellished with metal tubes and multicoloured chains. David moved to St Petersburg in 1996 to study fashion, relocating to London in 2003 to attend Central Saint Martins. He debuted at London Fashion Week in February 2009 and pop stars including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole have all become fans of his work. He currently lives in Clerkenwell and is stocked at Browns Focus.

What was your inspiration for spring/summer 2010?

The sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle at the Tarot Garden in Barcelona. I also referenced the geometric shapes found in organic and architectural structures.

What is your first fashion memory?

The Thierry Mugler fashion show for the A/W 92 collection. His 1990s shows are unforgettable – so spectacular, with such great spirit.

Who would you most like to dress?

Strong, confident and beautiful women – Carine Roitfeld, editor of Vogue Paris, for example.

What or who has most influenced you?

I admire the work of the late American designer Geoffrey Beene, Pierre Cardin and Azzedine Alaïa.

Sculptural, embellishment and a perfect fit.

Englishman Edward Meadham, 30, and Frenchman Benjamin Kirchhoff, 31, graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2002, launching their womenswear label Meadham Kirchhoff as part of Fashion East
in February 2006. Their speciality is draped romantic silhouettes with a cutting edge. The label is stocked at Browns, Harvey Nichols and Liberty.

What was your inspiration forspring/summer 2010?

Purity and illusion combined with banality. We have hundreds of inspirations including the Elgin Marbles and antique textiles.

What is your first fashion memory?

Edward: Watching period films such as David Lean's Great Expectations. I was impressed by the costumes, in particular the corsets and bustles.
And I loved watching a character receive a dress in a box, wrapped in layers of tissue paper. I didn't like playing with toys.

Mark Fast, 29, was raised by his teacher parents in the Canadian countryside outside Winnipeg. He uses a domestic knitting machine to create his innovative body-moulding designs, fusing Lycra, viscose, angora and wool. A Central Saint Martins alumnus, he completed his MA in 2008. Rihanna, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Kylie Minogue and Anouck Lepere have all worn his handcrafted dresses. He has also created knitwear for London-based Turkish designer Bora Aksu, collaborated with Stuart Vevers, the creative director of Loewe, and with Christian Louboutin. He is currently designing a capsule collection for Topshop. Mark lives

What was your inspiration forspring/summer 2010?

I got a lot of the knitted texture ideas from
a book I found that included amazing shots of silent film sets from 1910. I also channelled Julia Roberts playing Erin Brockovich. It was such a great role for her.

What is your first fashion memory?

Helping my friend Bora Aksu with outfits
he was designing for Tori Amos for her Sleeps With Butterflies' tour in 2005. She is one of my favourite singers.

Who would you most like to dress?

A self-assured woman who is comfortable in her own skin.
