Anticipation for the first ever Fashion for the Brave charity catwalk show and auction has grown this week as a host of fashion industry insiders, including Harold Tillman and the British Fashion Council, have announced their support for the prestigious event which already counts Sienna Miller and James Blunt as patrons.
The charity fundraiser, organised by Hilary Alexander and Lesley Goring, hopes to raise funds for both The British Forces Foundation (BFF) – a charity which boosts the morale of servicemen and women on the frontline and in hospitals all over the world – and the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund (HCOCF), which provides financial support to injured soldiers and their families - including those who have lost their lives on active service.
The event, which is also drumming up support for a team of ex Household Cavalry soldiers set to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this month (www.justgiving.com/operationalcasualtiesfund), is due to be held at The Dorchester Hotel on September 20th with a star-studded black tie gala, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, and a catwalk show featuring the best of British brands including Boodles and Jasper Conran.
