One sang along to my song ‘Ghost’, then said: ‘Why have the Americans got all the talent? This girl is great at singing.’ I never told him that it was me and I’m British.
Favourite discovery?
A Persian restaurant called Yas in Hammersmith. I always order the chicken kebab skewer with rice and salad.
Building you’d most like to buy?
Buckingham Palace. I’m such a royalist.
Last album you downloaded?
James Bay’s EP Hold Back The River. I first heard him in New York at a Hozier gig where he was the warm-up act. I’m a huge fan.
Building you’d most like to be locked in overnight?
Harrods: dinner in the food hall, then head to the music and gadget floor for some entertainment and end up in the bed section.
Best piece of advice you’ve been given?
My dad reminds me to keep my feet on the ground and to learn from my experiences but never to change for anyone.

Best place for a nightcap?
The Ship in Wandsworth. I often take my dog Trixie, a shih tzu poodle cross, for an evening walk and sit with her outside and have a cheeky G&T by the river.
Favourite shops?
Westfield is amazing because there’s a Zara and a Gucci under one roof. I also enjoy shopping at Sandro and Whistles in Covent Garden. I go to Spitalfields Market for one-off pieces of jewellery and I like to wander around Selfridges to discover the latest trends. For insanely good food stalls I head to Camden Market.
Earliest London memory?
Watching The Lion King when I was eight.
First thing you do when you arrive back in London?
Spend the whole day in my pyjamas watching Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
At the moment you are...
Promoting my new single ‘Mirror Man’. It’s edgy, sassy, and about the most self-centred person I’ve ever met.
What’s your biggest extravagance?
My L-shaped black leather sofa. It was the first thing I bought for my flat.
