Dizzee Rascal - My London

Where did you last go on holiday?
I went to Ibiza for a gig, but I stayed on for an extra week in a beautiful villa. I played around a bit with a speedboat and went to a few parties.

What was the last gig you saw?
Beyoncé at The O2 was phenomenal. At one point she was hanging off a trapeze and I feared for her, man. I thought she was going to fall but she managed really well. She is a brave woman. I met her once when I was hanging out on the set of a Destiny's Child video. She was walking towards me and she gave me a look... Wow.

What advice would you give a tourist?
Don't just hang around Trafalgar Square, but go to the East End and visit Brick Lane. That's where the real London is. I think it's quite rich and cultural.

Which shops do you rely on?
Selfridges for all my clothes. I mostly wear Nike. I designed a sneaker for them called Nike Air Max 90 Tongue N Cheek to coincide with my album. I like Foot Locker because I love trainers. And Nando's for the grilled chicken.

What's the best meal you've ever had in London?
Zizzi used to have this pasta dish - penne with spicy pork. I went to the one in Chiswick all the time. Man, I was so pissed off when they stopped making it. Sometimes when I go there and I ask the chef, he still makes it for me.

What's your earliest London memory?
I mostly remember hanging out on my estate, playing football. We used to play in the garages as well. I pulled some pranks there, but I'm not going to tell you about them.

What would be on your tombstone?
I did it.

What are you most afraid of?
Not being able to make music that people find interesting. That would be horrible.

What would you do as Mayor for the day?
Have a massive party for everybody who wants to come, and then add an extra day on to the weekend so we could all recover.

What's your life philosophy?
Work hard, play hard and always be yourself.

What animal would you most like to be?
An eagle, because they see the bullshit from miles away. And I'd be able to fly away whenever I want.

What was the last album you downloaded?
Addicted to Bass, the Ministry of Sound collection. I listen to it when I'm driving.
