One Direction fans convinced reunion is on coming soon as 2020 marks boy band's tenth anniversary

One Direction fans are speculating about a big reunion after Liam Payne told The Sun the former bandmates have been chatting again, as July 23 will be their 10th anniversary.

Payne said, "We've got a ten-year anniversary coming up so we've all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice."

Fans have been voicing their excitement on Twitter about the potential of the British boyband, which was formed on X Factor in 2010, reuniting.

Even though the band has been on indefinite hiatus since 2015 fans have remained loyal to the 1D brand.

One user compiled all the clues of a reunion into a single Twitter thread.

Her first clue, and one that many other fans are championing as definite 'proof', points to Niall Horan’s Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden, when a lie detector was brought into the car.

One of the questions Corden asked was whether or not One Direction would be reuniting and Niall bluntly said "yes.”

Another major clue was during an interview with SirusXM Hits 1 when Harry Styles was asked about a Zoom reunion. “I don’t think that’s the type of reunion we have in mind” he said, leading fans to speculate that a physical one was in the works.

Fans have also noticed that the One Direction Twitter account is once again active and that all five former members are now following the account.
