What’s the buzz? Rush Kensington is one of a number of salons in the chain; this one is three years old and caters to a mixed crowd of local workers, shoppers and well-to-do visitors. The salon is small and the service is efficient - it’s possibly a bit crowded, but I did leave with nice hair and whilst you’re having it done they serve really nice coffee in individual plungers.

I had a blow-dry with Georgina, who recognised the fine texture of my hair and recommended Kerastase’s new Masque Density shampoo and treatment to thicken it out. She used the Densimorphose mousse from the range on my scalp before drying it and happily she listened to my instructions - no serum, no oil and nice straight shiny hair please. It only took Georgina about 20 minutes to give me a good blow-dry and when I asked for some more volume at the top at the end of the appointment she happily obliged. I was impressed that she didn’t use straighteners (because that’s cheating) but still gave me super-straight hair. At work I got a few admiring “oooohs” including one from my producer - that’s the sign of a good blow-dry!
