Review: Zoeva make-up and brushes

Zoeva is a German make-up brand just making its way to these shores with its mission of providing luxury products at affordable prices. They started in 2008 with make-up brushes and have now branched out into make-up – and the brush range includes 50 types of brush, including vegan brushes. I tested out a range of Zoeva’s offerings:

Brushes

I used the fat Face Paint (#109) brush to apply translucent powder and the Silk Finish (#102) brush to apply highlighter and contouring strokes all over my face. Both brushes felt silk and substantia. These are fat, soft brushes that feel really comforting to use. They also work really well, making application nice and easy.

Eyes

Zoeva’s signature eye product is its Graphic Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner. It’s really silky and glides on very pleasingly. I used Opulence, which is a bronze colour in keeping with AW14’s trend for metallic eye make-up. Use it around the eye – it’ll work on the lid or underneath the eye for extra accent and colour. This feels as nice to use as the brushes.

Lips

Zoeva’s lipstick is its Luxe Cream Lipstick, which I tried in Cooling Passion, a vibrant red. The consistency was a little sticky and, unlike the eye pencil, it drags a little rather than gliding on. However, the plus points are the intense pigmentation and its staying power.
