The latest addition to Urban Decay’s popular Naked series bills itself as ‘a travel-ready kit loaded with EVERYTHING you need’. Their caps, not mine. I don’t blame them for shouting though, as this certainly is a handy portable collection of treats.
My favourite thing about this is the packaging and arrangement of the make-up itself. You open up the lid of the gold box and it’s like opening that suitcase in Pulp Fiction. Oooooh, beautiful shiny light. I had a good gaze at it for two minutes. On to the contents: you get six new Urban Decay eye shades, including one extra-large serving of all-purpose bone shade 5050.
The remaining five are bronze and brown metallics and mattes that should suit most skin tones and occasions, along with a bronzer and blush. The blush is super-super pink – too pink for me, so I’d use the bronzer as a blush substitute. There’s also a mini-Perversion mascara – result! – I’ve written before about how much I rate this one for thickening the eyelashes. To finish the collection there’s a mini 24/7 eye pencil and a full-size Naked Lipgloss in a pinky-browny hue.
Would I rely on this alone for a holiday? No, but it would form 95% of my make-up packing – I’d just add a couple of lipsticks and some brushes (applicators would have been useful as part of the pack). But overall – carry on using those shouty caps, Urban Decay, you’ve done well here.
