If you’re in the need for glamour but you’re also in the need for speed, Muse’s 60 Minute Makeover could be your answer. This super Mortimer Street hairdressers has a beauty salon downstairs, making it easy for them to give you the once-over in an hour. You choose three out of four express beauty treatments (nails, brows, roots, blow-dry) – and if it takes any longer than an hour you get your £45 back. Three decent treatments for under fifty quid in the centre of town? Looks as though this salon is looking to offer us New York-style speedy beauty at bargain New York-style prices. Quite right too. I chose to have my brows tidied along with a paint and shape (fifteen minutes each). Beauty therapist Correne, a self-confessed perfectionist, gave me two tidy treatments. You can have threading or waxing for your brows; I chose wax and I was pleased with the result – just a little tidy for that extra groomed look.
This is an OPI salon so I chose their on-trend festive colour Warm Me Up, a gold/bronze/brown. Corenne is about to start offering OPI’s new Christmas colour range, designed by Gwen Stefani, so expect lots of deep plums and more metallics from them this season. Yum! As for the blow-dry, I’ve written before about my fandom for Muse creative head honcho Jason so I was super happy to have him give me yet another pretty, straight, smooth blow-dry.
Overall, a good grooming pit-stop conducted in less time than it takes to watch Newsnight (or Made in Chelsea – *cough*). Painted thumbs-up!
