Review: Leticia Haute Coiffure

What’s the buzz? Pierre Doumit, creative director and co-founder of this Baker Street salon, prides himself on offering “the fastest blowout in London”. Excluding shampooing time, a blow-dry only takes about 15 minutes with Pierre, making this salon great for on-the-go styling. So that’s what I went to find out about, but really this wasn’t the standout feature of the blow-dry.

The standout feature – and my shoulders are relaxing just thinking about this –was Pierre’s extraordinary hairwash and chair massage technique. He’s a trained masseur and incorporates this skill beautifully into his hairdressing. I felt both relaxed and perky after he’d finished with my scalp and shoulders. That and the combination of the amazing-smelling shampoo he used (Kerastase Nutri-Thermique) had me on cloud happy.

I let Pierre style my hair how he wanted to because I was too relaxed post-massage to issue instructions. He gave me an impressive amount of volume considering that he used no product (which I love) – more volume and shape than I’d go for usually but definitely elegant and really pretty. Pierre aims for a long-lasting blow dry.

I have fine hair and I had nice hair for two days – the blow dry had relaxed on day two but my hair still looked shiny. I shoved a load of dry shampoo in on day three to eke the last out of it and that looked good too. This salon also offers a full beauty service list, so you can get everything done in one place – and you might even spot a Made In Chelsea cast member whilst you’re there.
