Wakeman Road is a spa that doesn’t think it’s a spa. For a start it’s members only — but membership is redeemable against treatment. It’s run by a power pair, Emma Sinclair and Richard Lamballe who, as a sideline from their day jobs in tech and PR, have curated their favourite masseuses, facialists and wellbeing specialists all in one place. I had a massage with Katie Light, once of Aromatherapy Associates and now a Wakeman Spa star. After a quick chat about what I really, really wanted, Light teased, coaxed and kneeded out all my aches and pains, constantly adjusting my position for optimum effect, until I drifted off in a frankincense fog.
