We all love the way Mrs Kardashian West contours with make-up, but wouldn’t it be great if we could achieve those sharp cheekbones with a technique less complicated than hers? Here’s how to get the look using selected products from Rodial’s new easy-to-use sculpting collection

Contouring has been quite the trend ever since stunning reality TV star Kim Kardashian uploaded images of her applying light and dark tones to her face. This is the look her favourite make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, blessed her with and has inspired women of many ages.

If you’re a fan of the super-defined cheekbones, but aren’t too keen on trying Kim’s rather complicated technique to get the look, then Rodial’s new sculpting range is the just the ticket for you.

Start with the Instaglam Airbrush Primer (£34) – the gel formula feels fresh and lightweight and offers a matte finish. Use a small amount over a moisturised face and wait a few minutes for your skin to absorb the product.

Once foundation has been applied, take the handy Instaglam Retouch concealer (£25) and use around the eyes to brighten and hide away any dark circles – think of a C shape. Focus on the middle when highlighting other areas with the Instaglam Highlighter (£25), like the forehead, chin and high point of the cheekbones.

This is an important step while contouring as it adds light to the centre of the face, which will bring more attention to the shadow on your cheekbones.

Now for some colour! The Instaglam Compact Deluxe Bronzing Powder aims to give a warm and natural glow while the Contouring Powder adds definition to facial features – both products (£52) are suitable for all skintones. Let’s stick to the second choice for the Kardashian look.

Time to suck in those cheeks. Using a make-up brush with thick bristles, start near the apple of the cheek and blend the powder upwards along the cheekbone till you reach the temple – again, think of a C shape. Make a ‘frame’ around the top of the hairline and under the jawline so that the colour is connected. It can also be brushed down the sides of the nose to make it appear slimmer and defined; the colour is buildable if you want the cheekbones to pop even further.

Although the finished look appears slightly more natural than Mrs West’s, I definitely prefer this process as it is both quicker and easier to do – great for those who like contouring on a daily basis.

Now all we need is a rapper husband.
